1. About these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of kage-lab, an online learning community and its related websites, lessons, audio, live sessions, and community spaces (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by KAGE LAB MEDIA LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("we", "us", or "our").
By starting a free trial, purchasing a membership, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. What the Service is, and what it is not
kage-lab is an educational self-care program. It teaches short daily practices that use slow breathing and guided imagination, and provides a community where members can share their own experience.
The Service is not medical care. It does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, therapy, counseling, or advice, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. Do not stop or change any treatment or medication because of anything in the Service. Individual responses to the practices vary, and we do not promise any particular result.
If you are experiencing severe depression, thoughts of harming yourself or others, or sudden or severe physical symptoms, please contact a medical professional or local emergency services instead of using the Service.
The Service is currently offered in Japanese.
3. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
- You must provide accurate information when you create your account and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- You may use a nickname in the community. Your account is personal and may not be shared or transferred.
4. Free trial, membership, and billing
- Free trial. New members may start a 14-day free trial. A payment card is required to start. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your paid membership begins automatically and you will be charged the monthly fee. We email you a reminder 3 days before the trial ends.
- Monthly fee. The membership is billed monthly in Japanese yen at the price shown at sign-up (currently ¥4,980 per month, tax included). Founding member pricing (¥2,980 per month, tax included) applies only to the first 15 members and continues for as long as that membership remains active without interruption.
- Renewal. The membership renews automatically each month until you cancel.
- Payment processing. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card issuer may apply its own exchange rates or fees.
- Price changes. We may change the monthly fee for future billing periods. We will notify you by email at least 30 days before a change takes effect, and you may cancel before then.
5. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation and refunds are described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
6. Community rules
To keep the community a safe place for everyone, you agree to:
- respond to others with empathy, and not give unsolicited advice, lectures, or judgments;
- share your own experience rather than evaluating other members;
- respect other members' privacy, and not share their posts, names, or personal information outside the Service;
- not post content that is unlawful, harassing, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or that promotes self-harm;
- not advertise, sell, or recruit for other services, or post links for commercial purposes; and
- not offer medical or treatment advice to other members.
We may hide or remove content, or suspend or end an account, if we reasonably believe these rules or these Terms have been broken, or to protect the safety of a member.
7. AI learning assistant
Some features may include an AI assistant that answers questions about the practices. Its answers are generated automatically, may be incomplete or inaccurate, and are not medical or professional advice. Please do not rely on it in an emergency.
8. Content and intellectual property
- All lessons, audio, videos, texts, and materials in the Service are owned by us or our licensors. You may use them only for your own personal, non-commercial learning while your membership is active.
- You may not copy, record, redistribute, resell, or publish the content, or use it to provide services to others, without our written permission.
- You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host and display your posts within the Service so that it can operate.
9. Changes to the Service
We may update, add, or remove lessons and features over time. If we stop providing the Service entirely, we will give members reasonable notice and will not charge for periods after the Service ends.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will produce any particular result.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including consumer protection laws in your country of residence.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. This does not deprive you of any protection given to you by the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will notify members by email or within the Service before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms.
