Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2026

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how KAGE LAB MEDIA LLC ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use kage-lab and its websites (the "Service").

2. Information we collect

  • Account information: your name or nickname, email address, and login details.
  • Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe. We receive limited details such as your billing country, the last four digits of your card, and payment status. We do not receive or store your full card number.
  • Practice records you choose to submit: for example, how you rate your body's tension or heaviness before and after a practice (on a 0–10 scale), whether you felt comfortable, and short notes. These records relate to how you feel and may be considered sensitive. Submitting them is optional.
  • Community content: posts, comments, and reactions you share in the community.
  • Messages with the AI assistant, if you use it.
  • Support messages you send us by email.
  • Usage and device information: such as pages viewed, lesson progress, browser type, and IP address, collected through our platform providers and cookies.

3. How we use your information

  • to provide the Service, including releasing lessons on schedule and giving you access to the community;
  • to process payments, send trial and billing reminders, and respond to support requests;
  • to prepare your personal progress reports from your own practice records;
  • to keep the community safe, including reviewing posts that may indicate a risk to someone's safety;
  • to improve our lessons and the Service, using aggregated or de-identified information where possible; and
  • to measure the effectiveness of our advertising (see section 6).

We use your practice records only to provide the Service to you and, in aggregated and de-identified form, to improve the program. We will ask for your separate consent before using any individual record or story in public materials.

4. Service providers we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Service, under contracts that limit their use of it:

  • our online community platform (hosting of accounts, lessons, and community content);
  • Stripe (payment processing);
  • providers of AI technology used for the AI assistant and for summarizing practice records;
  • email delivery, website hosting, and website translation providers; and
  • advertising and analytics providers (see section 6).

We may also disclose information if required by law, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect someone's life or safety.

5. International transfers

We are based in the United States, and our members are currently mainly in Japan. Our service providers may store and process information in the United States, Japan, and other countries. Where required, we take steps so that your information receives a level of protection consistent with applicable law, including Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information.

6. Cookies and advertising

We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Service is used. We may use advertising tools (such as the Meta Pixel and Conversions API) to measure whether our ads lead to sign-ups. These tools may receive information such as the fact that you started a trial. We do not send your practice records or community posts to advertising providers. You can manage cookies in your browser settings.

7. How long we keep information

We keep your account information and records while your membership is active. After you cancel, we delete or de-identify your practice records and AI assistant conversations within 12 months, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. We keep payment and transaction records for as long as required by tax and accounting laws.

8. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, delete, or stop using your personal information, or to provide a copy of it, by emailing [email protected]. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You can also delete your own posts in the community at any time.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, and we choose providers that maintain industry-standard security. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

10. Age

The Service is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. If we make material changes, we will notify members by email or within the Service before they take effect.
