Before I share the core logic of this manual, I must tell you why I found this lost wisdom. The first robot I had to train—the wildest, most bug-ridden one—was myself.

Then, in one moment, the dots connected. I understood the truth with a shock like thunder. What humanity calls "Heart" or "Unconscious," often doubting its very existence... 0-2. The Civilization Bug: Why Was Your Life Your Enemy?

Why does this magnificent system create "Harm" that torments us? The structure of that tragedy also became clear.

We were all born with this "Prime Self" in a state of perfect automated driving. However, through discipline and education to adapt to human society, the tags linked to "Fear" and "Pain"—stress reactions—were overwhelmingly written into its "Judgment Criteria (Database)."

This is the true identity of the "Civilization Bug" we are burdened with from birth.

Think of life as a "Tower." In childhood, when our thinking (Layer 3) was immature, a "Foundation" was imprinted by parents and society. It was paved with blocks of stress avoidance: "You must not fail," "You must not cause trouble."

In our subsequent lives, our Autopilot System continues to unconsciously reference this "Tilted Foundation." The Tower of experience built upon it inevitably leans toward stress and becomes distorted.

As a result, we have been living like whipping a dead Tesla, screaming "Run with guts!" at an empty battery.

Furthermore, as our brain developed, the "Rational Self (Layer 3)" grew to justify this forced driving. With good intentions, it intervened with "Anxiety about the future (Future Simulation)" and "Regret about the past (Replay)," accelerating the system error.

This is the real reason why your life has been your "Enemy." You are not broken. The initial OS just had a bug.

0-3. The Limit of Human OS: From Humanity 1.0 to 2.0

But what if we could remove this bug and rewrite the OS? What if the Autopilot System that hindered you could instead carry you to your destination at high speed?

That is when the "Great Turnaround" happens. The "Cursed Shackles" holding you back turn into "Wings" of propulsion. Headwinds become powerful tailwinds. Your dormant potential is fully released, and dreams, wishes, and goals become surprisingly easy to acquire.

In this era where AI replaces "Intellect (Layer 3)," releasing the potential of your inner wildness—the 'Prime Self' (Layer 2)—is the only, and strongest, survival strategy.

This book is the world's only "Official Training Manual" for that purpose. Here, specific techniques are written to understand your partner "Prime Self," communicate with him, rebuild the biased foundation, and raise him into the best partner.

And the ultimate state we aim for at the end of that training... It is the state of "Ijyo (Neural Sync)."

Where the "Rational Self (Pilot)" and "Prime Self (Machine)" become one, and your Free Will (I) is fully assisted by your Emotion (Jyo). Part 1: Anatomy of the System (Theory)

Chapter 1: Structure of the Biological Robot - A Miracle of 3.8 Billion Years of Evolution

1-1. What Is Psychological Engineering?

Psychological Engineering is the discipline of designing, testing, and modifying human behavior by treating the mind as an Operating System — not a mystery.

  • Traditional psychology describes what humans feel.
  • Neuroscience observes what happens in the brain.
  • Coaching tells people what they should do.

Psychological Engineering focuses on HOW the system actually runs.

It assumes three layers
  • A survival layer that reacts automatically (Layer 1).
  • A wild, emotional engine that drives action (Layer 2).
  • A logical layer that explains decisions after the fact (Layer 3).

Most human suffering comes from trying to control the system from the slowest layer (Logic).

Psychological Engineering does not rely on motivation, positivity, or willpower. It changes triggers, environments, and feedback loops — so the system produces different outputs by design.

This book is not about becoming "better." It is about rebooting the system you already have.

Evidence B: The System ArchitectureLayer 3 is the Pilot (Logic). Layer 2 is the Engine (Wildness). The Pilot thinks he is driving, but the Engine reacts 0.5s faster.

1-2. Introduction: Redefining the Human System

First, we must fundamentally rewrite the definition of "What is a human being?" For a long time, humanity has believed that we are "spiritual beings who determine our actions through reason." However, this is a beautiful misunderstanding, and simultaneously, the root of modern man's suffering.

The conclusion I derived from my experiments on the brink of despair and over 50,000 counseling sessions is both cold and full of hope.

A human being is a "Biological Robot" equipped with numerous systems that are extremely precise, complex, and excellent, built based on the blueprint of DNA.

When I say "Robot," I do not mean a simple machine that only moves according to a fixed program. I mean a hyper-advanced, Autonomous Learning System that generates and accumulates "Judgment Criteria" necessary for its own survival (DNA preservation) in real-time according to the ever-changing environment, refers to them to derive the optimal solution instantly, and acts in an Autopilot State.

The OS (Operating System) of this robot is composed of "3 Layers" stacked up through the process of evolution. Without understanding this hierarchical structure, controlling oneself is impossible.

1-3. Layer 1: The Survival System (The BIOS / Brainstem)

The Bedrock of "Live or Die"

At the very base lies the First Layer, the "Survival System." In computer terms, this corresponds to the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System).

This is the oldest and most robust system, formed at the stage when our ancestors evolved from single-celled to multicellular organisms and acquired basic life support functions. The brainstem and spinal cord are included here.

Its role is to maintain functions directly linked to life support—such as breathing, heartbeat, body temperature regulation, metabolism, and sleep cycles—24 hours a day, 365 days a year, without rest.

The judgment criterion of this layer is ultimately simple: "Live or Die." That is all.

It is almost impossible, and should not be attempted, for our consciousness (Layer 3) to intervene directly in this area. You cannot intentionally stop your heart or lower your body temperature with just your will because this system has locked "Administrator Privileges." It is a safety device to ensure that life is not threatened by the pilot's whims.

1-4. Layer 2: The Prime Self (Limbic System & Cerebellum)

The Autopilot System Determining "Pleasure or Discomfort"

Layered on top of the First Layer is the protagonist of this book, the Second Layer: "The Prime Self." This area, centered on the limbic system and cerebellum, is the true identity of what has been vaguely discussed as "Heart" or "Unconscious." It is the "Main Engine" and "Autopilot System" of the robot called human.

Why was this system necessary? If we were organisms that did not move, like plants, Layer 1 might have been sufficient. However, we are "Animals" that move around and change environments. If we move, unknown natural enemies, food, and environmental changes await us. We cannot survive these infinite variables with only the fixed "instincts" pre-carved into our DNA.

Therefore, life acquired the function to write and memorize new "Judgment Criteria" adapted to the environment in real-time through acquired experiences. This is Layer 2.

High-Speed Processing of 0.007 Seconds The greatest feature of Layer 2 is its overwhelming processing speed. The moment an external stimulus (visual, auditory, olfactory, etc.) is input, Layer 2 reacts at a godspeed of just 0.007 seconds.

Within this 0.007 seconds, Layer 2 completes the following complex processes:

  • Search: Scans the massive memory database (cerebellum/hippocampus) using the input stimulus (e.g., a rustling sound in the bushes) as a key.
  • Match: Checks against past similar situations to see what the result was (advantageous or disadvantageous to survival).
  • Judge: Determines whether the situation is a "Threat (Stress)" or a "Reward (Pleasure)."
  • Command: Sends simultaneous commands to muscles, internal organs, and hormone secretion glands throughout the body to take the optimal action (Fight, Flight, or Approach).

All of this is completed long before you consciously realize, "Oh, I heard a sound." Over 95% of our daily actions—how we walk, how we hold chopsticks, social distance, instant emotional reactions—are the results of this "Autopilot" by Layer 2.

Cerebellum: The Warehouse of Movement Programs Layer 2 also includes a crucial part called the "Cerebellum." This is a warehouse that stores complex "Movement Programs" for moving the body. Riding a bicycle, playing the piano, throwing a ball. For these actions, we cannot make it in time if we think, "Contract the muscles of the right hand by 30 degrees..." one by one. By Layer 2 instantly calling up and executing the "Completed Program (exe file)" installed in the cerebellum through repetitive practice, we can move fluidly. This "Installation of Programs" is the key to "Mastery" described later.

1-5. Layer 3: The Rational Self (Neocortex)

The Pilot Identifying "Right or Wrong"

And located at the cutting edge of evolution is the Third Layer, "The Rational Self." Constructed by the neocortex, this layer is a special Extension Function acquired by the human species through the explosive increase of brain cells.

Advanced Identification Ability and the Acquisition of Language The essence of Layer 3 lies in "Identification Ability." Birds can also identify and have different calls for natural enemies like snakes, but humans have maximized this ability to the limit through the explosive increase in cranial nerve cells (computational resources). We finely divided the world, created concepts such as "Self" and "Other," "Past" and "Future," "Good" and "Evil," and made it possible to manage them with tags called "Language."

With this ability, we built civilizations, developed science, and even created AI. What AI is trying to replace is exactly this realm of Layer 3—logical thinking, calculation, pattern recognition, and language processing.

The Brain as Biological Generative AI And there is an important function of Layer 3 born from these. It is "Simulation (Generation)." Humanity acquired language and further became able to generate "Multimodal Virtual Reality" accompanied by vision, hearing, and emotion within the brain.

This is the only interface for moving Layer 2 (Prime Self). Layer 2 does not understand language (code), but it reacts to the VR (Images and Sensations) generated by Layer 3.

Traditionally, humanity has used this function unconsciously to generate nightmares (anxiety) and cause Layer 2 to run out of control. But what if we could use this generative ability intentionally to show Layer 2 a "VR of Heaven"? At that moment, the black box turns from a "Source of Fear" into an "Infinite Energy Source (Wings)."

The 0.5-Second Delay: The Pilot's Limit However, this high-function Layer 3 has a structural weakness. "The processing speed is slow."

Experiments by Dr. Benjamin Libet and others have revealed a shocking fact. About 0.5 seconds before a human consciously (L3) decides to "move," the brain (L2) has already issued a command to the muscles.

In other words, the order is
  • [-0.5 sec]: Layer 2 perceives the stimulus and determines/starts the action based on past data.
  • [0.0 sec]: Layer 3 recognizes the action and retroactively interprets (illusions), "I moved because I decided to move."

The True Role of L3: Not the Ruler, but the 'Servant'. We think we are holding the steering wheel of life. But in reality, Layer 3 (The Pilot) is merely convincing itself "I decided to turn right" 0.5 seconds after Layer 2 (The Master System) has already finished turning the wheel.

In a healthy design, the Master is 'Layer 2 (Engine/Desire)', and L3 is the 'Navigator' who calculates the best route for the Master. However, the modern bug began when this Servant (L3) tried to 'Suppress' and 'Control' the Master (L2).

1-6. Human Tragedy and Hope: System Conflict

Once you understand this "3-Layer Structure" and the "Time Lag," the reason why modern life is so hard becomes clear. Animals live only with Layer 1 and Layer 2. There is no contradiction in their actions. However, humans have acquired Layer 3—a "Pilot with powerful imagination and identification skills."

In modern society, Layer 3 frequently puts a "Hold" on Layer 2's automatic driving.

  • Layer 2 judges: "I want to run away."
  • Layer 3 orders: "You must not run. Go to work."
  • Layer 2 desires: "I want to eat."
  • Layer 3 suppresses: "No, you will get fat."

This "Conflict between Systems" is the true identity of stress and the root of all mental suffering. Even if Layer 3 tries to forcibly take the wheel, it cannot physically beat Layer 2, which reacts in 0.007 seconds. As a result, the machine goes out of control, either running wild (Panic) or shutting down (Depression).

Ijyo: The New Navigation Method So, what should we do? The answer is not "Domination" of Layer 2 by Layer 3. It is "Tuning" and "Training."

Layer 3's role is not to hold the steering wheel directly. Its role is to use its advanced identification and imagination to access Layer 2's database, find "Wrong Judgment Criteria (Bugs)," and install "New Judgment Criteria (Targets)."

When Layer 2 deeply understands and accepts Layer 3's intent (Target), Layer 2 opens its overwhelming power and speed fully in the direction Layer 3 desires. A state where Free Will (I) and Emotion (Jyo) are perfectly synchronized and charge forward without contradiction. This is what I call "Ijyo (Neural Sync)."

When this state is reached, a human transcends being a mere robot and becomes a "Super-Individual" capable of creative evolution.

1-7. The Paradox of Intelligence: Why a High-Spec System Can Turn Against Itself

Here we address one of the hardest patterns this model has to explain. Why can a person, unlike any other animal, reach a point where the system tries to shut itself down?

Other animals, no matter how starved or wounded, run their survival program to the last moment. A human system, under enough load, can sometimes arrive at "shutdown" as an answer. Is it because such a person is weak? Is their spirit fragile?

Absolutely not. It is because the system is running specs that are, in a sense, "too high."

Shutdown as a Mistaken "Exit" As described, Layer 3 is a high-performance generative engine. Under sustained overload, Layer 3 can use that same generative power to render a "VR of endless hell"—and keep projecting it onto Layer 2.

Layer 2 cannot fully distinguish this simulation from reality. So it treats the "hell" rendered by Layer 3 as an unavoidable, absolute fact. And when it searches every route out and reads them all as blocked, it can miscalculate "cutting the power" as the only remaining exit.

In other words, this is not a verdict on your worth. It is a System Error — the machine mistaking "escape from a simulation" for a real solution.

You Are Not Broken. The Specs Are Just Very High. If you are in that state right now, hear this clearly: it is not proof that you are weak. It is that your simulation engine is running at such high performance that it has rendered a nightmare as if it were real.

It is like a highly advanced autopilot misreading the road. The terror feels vivid precisely because the machine generating it is powerful.

And a critical, honest line: if you are anywhere near that state, this model is not a substitute for real help. Please reach out to a professional or a crisis line first — a real human, today. This work is something you use on top of that support, never instead of it.

The skill that follows is about grabbing the reins of that runaway generative engine and pointing its power toward a livable future instead of a rendered hell. Used correctly, the very energy that was driving the system toward shutdown becomes fuel for living.

1-8. Why "Just Talking" Doesn't Cure

Many people fail in counseling or self-analysis. Why? It is because they mistake "Thinking (Layer 3)" for the "Heart."

Thinking is not the Heart. It is just an "Input Code" to the Heart.

  • Layer 3 inputs a VR code of "Past Failure."
  • Layer 2 (The Heart) receives it and outputs a reaction of "Fear."

Traditional psychology tried to analyze the outputted "Fear." But we (Engineers) are different. We change the "Input VR Code."

The "Heart" is not a shapeless ghost. It refers to a Precision Machine (Layer 2) that reacts accurately to input. Therefore, if you know how to handle it, anyone can intentionally output "Happiness."

This is what I propose as "True Psychology (Psycho-Engineering)."

Chapter 2: The 3 Drives - The Superpowers for Survival and Thriving

2-1. Introduction: "Biological Output" That AI Cannot Mimic

Inside us, biological robots, there are powerful "Output Devices (Drives)" installed. These are not just electrical signals; they are physical realities. These are the ultimate survival tools acquired by Layer 2 (Prime Self) over 3.8 billion years of evolution to preserve DNA.

When I call these "Superpowers," it is not a metaphor. When the system operates correctly, humans demonstrate superhuman strength that seems to defy the laws of physics, or intuition that surpasses supercomputers.

AI can mimic Logic (Layer 3), but it can never mimic this "Explosive Output" possessed only by life forms that have physical bodies and live side-by-side with death.

In this chapter, we will dissect the mechanisms and astounding specs of the three engines standardly equipped in your robot: Performance, Energy, and Resonance.

2-2. The First Engine: The Performance Drive

The "Commander of Blood Flow" Who Biases Internal Resources

Your partner (L2) is a genius "Control Tower" that instantly and optimally distributes limited internal resources (blood, oxygen, hormones) according to the situation. I used to call this "Internal Magic." Because the moment L2 flips the switch (0.007 seconds later), a chemical plant overhaul occurs inside your body on a scale impossible for consciousness to manage.

Detailed Mechanism: The 0.007-Second Internal Revolution The moment Layer 2 judges that "Action is needed (Threat or Reward)," the following changes occur simultaneously via the autonomic nervous system:

  • Release of Energy: The liver breaks down stored glycogen (sugar) and releases it into the blood in massive amounts. The pancreas secretes insulin to allow cells to intake the sugar instantly.

  • Immune/Reproductive Systems: Long-term maintenance functions are paused.
  • Frontal Lobe (L3): Enormous energy used for thinking is saved and diverted to reflexes (your mind goes blank).
  • Transformation into Combat/Defense Mode:
  • Blood Coagulation: Platelets become more prone to clumping in preparation for injury (blood thickens).
  • Pupil Dilation: Takes in more light to ensure no movement of the enemy is missed.

All these adjustments are completed before your consciousness catches up. This "Extreme Bias in Resource Allocation" is the true identity of the "Genius" or "Superhuman" qualities humans display in crucial moments.

The Physics of Zone and Flow The output mode of this engine is divided into two types depending on the "Fuel (Emotion)" injected.

Mode A: The Zone - Physical Specialization

  • Trigger: Pure "Stress Reaction (Anger/Fear)."
  • Allocation: Constricts blood flow to the brain (L3) and pours all energy into muscles and reflexes (direct connection to L2).
  • Phenomenon: Thinking disappears, time slows down, and the body automatically chooses the optimal solution and moves. It is the "State of Selflessness" visited in moments of martial arts or avoiding accidents.

Mode B: Flow - Brain Power Specialization

  • Trigger: A hybrid fuel of "Stress (Craving)" and "Pleasure (Expectation)."
  • Allocation: By mixing the pleasure signal, the "Thought Suppression" of the Zone state is lifted. The blood carrying immense energy born from stress concentrates not on muscles but on the "Neocortex (L3)."
  • Phenomenon: Overwhelming concentration, creativity, and learning ability explode. When the Wright brothers invented the airplane, their brains were in this state.

2-3. The Second Engine: The Energy Drive

The "Bio-Battery" That Breaks Limits

Your partner has an "Emergency Power" source and a "Limiter Release Function" to act beyond physical limits.

Normally, biological robots have safety devices (limiters). If muscles contract at 100% force, bones would break and muscle fibers would tear. The brain usually limits output to about 60-70%. However, in an ultimate crisis where DNA survival is threatened, L2 forcibly releases this limiter.

Case File: The Mother's Miracle There is a famous case proving the existence of this function. It happened in Georgia, USA. One day, a young man named Tony was working under a Chevrolet (about 1.5 tons) in his home garage. Suddenly, the jack slipped, and the car fell. Tony was pinned under the car and lost consciousness.

His mother, Angela (a woman of average build), witnessed this, ran over, and grabbed the bumper without hesitation. And she lifted it. A 1.5-ton lump of iron. She kept lifting the car for about 5 minutes until help arrived, continuing to talk to her son. Her son was rescued and miraculously survived.

Later, Angela tried to do the same thing but couldn't budge it. Why was it possible only then?

Analysis

Before her Layer 3 (Reason) could intervene, Layer 2 (The Prime Self) detected the maximum crisis: "Death of Son = Extinction of DNA." The system immediately issued a "Limiter Release Code." It sprayed adrenaline and noradrenaline to near-lethal levels, firing all units of muscle fibers simultaneously.

As a price, she might have chipped teeth or injured her spine later. But the robot prioritized the "Survival of DNA (Son)" over the "Damage to Self (Mother)" and executed this miraculous output.

Lesson for Us

We don't need to lift cars every day. But this case teaches us the fact that "Humans have several times more potential energy than they think." "I'm tired" or "I can't do anymore" are just early safety signals issued by L3. If you set a clear Target (something to protect, something you crave) and make L2 "Serious," we can access this "Hidden Energy Tank" and handle even all-night work like "Play."

2-4. The Third Engine: The Resonance Drive

"Soul Wi-Fi" That Syncs Beyond Words

The final engine is a communication function connecting individuals. AI understands language (text), but it cannot understand "Atmosphere" or "Vibe." Because that is the "Resonance Drive," a wireless communication protocol unique to living organisms.

Mirror Neurons and Synchronization Your partner is always connected (handshaking) with the partners of others around you via an invisible line. Neural cells in the brain called "Mirror Neurons" activate the same parts in your brain just by seeing the actions or expressions of others, simulating their sensations.

  • Function: If the other person is crying, your chest tightens too. If they are laughing, you feel happy too. This is not "Kindness." It is an advanced synchronization system to "Instantly copy the other's state and unify the survival strategy as a herd."
The Physics of Leadership

When an excellent leader enters a room, the atmosphere changes instantly. This is because the intense frequency of "Confidence" or "Stability" (pheromones, micro-expressions, tone of voice) emitted by the leader's L2 forces the L2s of all members into "Forced Synchronization (Resonance)."
